The march began with a moment of silence as 49 people with white sheets draped over their heads each held a portrait of one of the victims killed in the attack at the parade’s starting line on 36th Street. Fifth Avenue was awash with thousands of rainbow flags Sunday in celebration of the Gay Pride Parade even as revelers memorialized the victims killed in an attack on an Orlando gay club two weeks ago.
